Tetherow’s Story Continues

Tetherow
“Father” Tetherow, convicted felon

The York Daily Record released a story on Virgil Bradley Tertherow, one of the convicted priests who was listed in the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Grand Jury Report (his story is covered on page 872 in the Diocese of Scranton section).

By the looks of the number of search engine inquiries and hits on my collection of posts on this particularly creepy con artist, there is a renewed interest in this collector of child pornography.  A man continually changing his name and denying his felony conviction is an indicator of something, isn’t it?

He is still operating as a “Priest” in a “Traditional Rite Catholic Church Cult called the “Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church” in Lower Windsor Township where he is going by the name “Father Gabriel.”  There a delusional congregation has swallowed his ridiculous story of how he was set up because of his adherence to the Traditional Latin Mass. They have a FaceBook group that is full of pictures of this rogue “priest.”    These people are in denial despite the overwhelming evidence of this man’s guilt to include copies of official court records and his own admission of guilt.  Bishop James Timlin gave this man his first opportunity to operate in the Diocese of Scranton.

This is a particularly unsettling article. You may want to shower after reading it!

I am looking forward to the next slug of hate mail from his cult supporters in Central Pennsylvania.

The number for calling the rectory of his church is (717) 758-3947.

So how do I do this again?

This year has been full of trials, disappointments and setbacks.  It also has been full of discovery, new friends, old friends and the promise of new adventures.   2013 has been a hard year and I don’t mind saying I am glad to see it go.

I have not written much on this blog this year.  Fits and starts mostly.  I watch the news and I watch the continuing saga of people in positions of authority abusing children or vulnerable adults.  I read what is put out there by groups trying to reform the church and I see the Pope is even offering to reach out to survivors.  I still see that the institutions that these predators work within still look at the sexual crimes and damage to actual human beings as part of a risk management calculation.  I still see legislation withering while politicians genuflect to special interests to keep justice from those that deserve it.

Last week I threw a few lines out there and the first response was allegedly from a predator wanting to taunt me and others.  The email (posenti3@yahoo.com) was familiar, a pseudonym based on an Italian saint.  Oddly, Gabriel Possenti is the patron saint of “handgunners”.  A veiled threat, perhaps.  It would have been more of a threat if the author had spelled the saint’s name correctly.  I guess being “Mr. Oregon” in his youth (not that there is any record of that honor) did not require the ability to spell the name used for “extracurricular” online activities.  Activities that led to his pleading guilty of charges related to child pornography.  Yeah, I know you are still out there.  I know you are doing your taunting from your schismatic church.

How do I start doing this again.  I just listen to the taunting of those who think that they will get away with the crimes they have committed.  I just start looking at the new, credible allegations that keep coming.  I look at the Pennsylvania State Assembly Judiciary Committee Chairman, Ron Marsico who is actively quashing statute of limitations reform.  That obstruction allows a credibly accused Catholic Priest by the name of Guy Marsico to be beyond the reach of his victims.  I think I need to research this potential conflict of interest. Is “Marsico” that common a name in Central PA?

There is still much to be done.  I guess I need to keep writing until I have more answers.

Tetherow is now Garbiel Francis! And now he is building a school?

Just when you thought the story couldn’t get more bizarre …

Virgil Tetherow, Gabriel Tetherow, Brad Tetherow, Gabriel Posenti, all names used at one time or another by a convicted connoisseur of kiddie porn, Father Gabriel Francis. The same guy who was recently fired from his position with the schismatic Catholic Group at the Sts Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission in York, Pennsylvania has reinvented himself again and hung out his shingle at the newly created St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Chapel in Dover, Pennsylvania. It looks like he and some other breakaway members of Sts Peter and Paul RMC have taken the school money from the RMC in York and run to a new location. Or perhaps the heat was too much and the two organizations are working together to avoid having to explain the fact that their “priest” is a convicted felon and has been ordered by the Diocese of Scranton to stop presenting himself as a Catholic priest or to minister as a Catholic priest.

Dover is just a few miles northwest of York, Pennsylvania, still within the Diocese of Harrisburg, although I would imagine that this group is also operating outside of the control of that See.

It looks like the newly renamed “Father Gabriel Francis” intends to open a school with the freshly formed schismatic group in Dover. This would seem to be the perfect project for a guy who gets his jollies looking at naked children.

My question to the readers is this, why would anyone allow this man, who keeps changing his name, near any project that would put him in close contact and perhaps let him be alone, unsupervised with children? If this man was legitimate, why does he have to keep changing his name?  Is it so difficult for these ultra-conservative Catholic groups to find a priest in good standing that they are willing to accept the services of a man who has been removed from ministry in the Catholic Church, especially one with a proclivity for sexual desires for children?

Dover, Pennsylvania, be warned! Roman Collar crime has taken up residence in your community and the intention is to open a school that may provide victims for a potential pedophile priest.

Thanks to the reader who provided the lead on this story!
