Tetherow’s Story Continues

“Father” Tetherow, convicted felon

The York Daily Record released a story on Virgil Bradley Tertherow, one of the convicted priests who was listed in the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Grand Jury Report (his story is covered on page 872 in the Diocese of Scranton section).

By the looks of the number of search engine inquiries and hits on my collection of posts on this particularly creepy con artist, there is a renewed interest in this collector of child pornography.  A man continually changing his name and denying his felony conviction is an indicator of something, isn’t it?

He is still operating as a “Priest” in a “Traditional Rite Catholic Church Cult called the “Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church” in Lower Windsor Township where he is going by the name “Father Gabriel.”  There a delusional congregation has swallowed his ridiculous story of how he was set up because of his adherence to the Traditional Latin Mass. They have a FaceBook group that is full of pictures of this rogue “priest.”    These people are in denial despite the overwhelming evidence of this man’s guilt to include copies of official court records and his own admission of guilt.  Bishop James Timlin gave this man his first opportunity to operate in the Diocese of Scranton.

This is a particularly unsettling article. You may want to shower after reading it!

I am looking forward to the next slug of hate mail from his cult supporters in Central Pennsylvania.

The number for calling the rectory of his church is (717) 758-3947.

Another York Cult Member Writes In…

Virgil Tetherow, Brad Tetherow, Father Gabriel, Mr. Oregon, whatever you want to call the convicted child porn connoisseur who is currently masquerading as a Catholic Priest at a schismatic “Roman Catholic Mission” in York, continues to enjoy the favor of a fringe group of misguided ultra conservative Catholics. One sent in a comment to an old post on this blog that is just too good to relegate to the obscurity of a comment on a post that is only read occasionally by those searching for information on the priest removed from ministry by the Diocese of Scranton.  His removal facilitated  after he pleaded guilty to charges related to the discovery of child pornography on church computers at St. Ann’s Parish.

The comment posted last night by someone using the name “Devoted Catholic” (mailto:fraeuli@gmail.com) goes as follows:  (I am not editing this submission, I am adding emphasis in the form of bolding where I found the writer’s comments particularly interesting.)

Before anyone goes ahead and sends that email to good Mr. Romeo, who knows Father and knows what was done to Father, take a moment to think about this. You read this web page which instructed you on what to think, feeding you a one-sided view of the situation. You were then told to email Mr. Romeo about what you think, or rather what you were just taught to think. Father was framed, and is willing to discuss the matter with any honest person who approaches him about it. The best priests are the ones who suffer the worst persecution by people who would like to stop them from serving God in such a holy way, people who put filthy images on their computers and whatnot. Think, someone could do that to you too. Get to know Father and you will see that he is simply too holy and too paternal of a priest to harm any of God’s children. It is the modernist priests who distribute communion to abortionists, active homosexuals, and adulterers whom you should be worried about letting your children be around. The scandalous modernist priest filth has to stop, and so does the one-sided gossip about good priests like Father by people who don’t even know him.

“Father was Framed!”  Stop the presses…  “Devoted Catholic”,   despite your protestations to the contrary, a guilty plea to charges related to child pornography in court is not “gossip”.  The fact that your “Mission” has a history of hiring disgraced priests with a penchant for sexual activity that involves children, either real children or photos of real children in inappropriate sexual positions is a fact.  Chairman Dave, Mr Romeo, D.W. Drew, Devoted Catholic and Father Gabe,( Gabriel, Bradley, Virgil, Mr. Oregon, whatever his manufactured name is this month) all know that this is not gossip, it is documented fact.  The gossip comes in when these low- life pedophile apologists start blaming the Diocese of Scranton (an organization that I particularly loathe) and the pastor of St. Ann’s at the time of “Father Gabby’s” conviction for the admitted offenses of this creepy priest.  (If you haven’t seen his Classmates.com photo and self aggrandizing write-up including his claims of publishing a book and being the pastor of a “Catholic Church” you should take a look to see the face of deceit).   I will  assume that the “best priests” try to keep their minds and hands out of children’s pants.

You claim that Father (oh, just pick a name) is willing to talk about how he was framed.  I am all ears.  I have stated in the past that I would be more than happy to give him a forum to clear his name if he had exculpatory evidence that would prove his claim.  If you can prove that the Diocese of Scranton conspired as part of a criminal enterprise to “frame” Father, bring it on, or let me send it to an investigative reporter with whom I am acquainted and let’s start the process of clearing his name right now.   The expected response from “Devoted Catholic” is that I don’t qualify as an “honest person” in the eyes of the Catholic Mission in York.  Alas, Chairman Dave and the rest of the “Ultimate Providers” in York remain entrenched in their fantasy world where all the problems in society have been caused by Vatican II, “modernist priests giving communion to abortionists, active homosexuals and adulterists” and liberals.  Jeeze, these guys are starting to sound more like a hybrid of the Westboro Baptist Church and a Michigan Militia.

Devoted Catholic, you have no idea what is in the heart of the man who was ordered to stop presenting himself as a Catholic Priest.  Your blind devotion to this convicted deviant is a testament to your inability to look at documented evidence, to include Tetherow’s guilty plea, and see that this man is not too holy and too paternal to get aroused by looking at photos of naked little children.  Go ahead and drink the Kool-Aid, bask in your obvious and pathetic ignorance and go on believing what you are told by Chairman Dave and Father “Kiddie Porn”.   You seem to be made for each other.  To the parents of York, Pennsylvania, you have a predator wearing clerical garb in your city.  BEWARE!  To the members of the Mission Cult in York Pennsylvania, if you want to keep bringing this up, I am more than willing to focus the spotlight on your self proclaimed “pastor”.

Hey, I am a “Psychoblogger!”

I have arrived!  The wonderful folks at the Saints Peter and Paul Mission in York Pennsylvania have declared me to be a “Psychoblogger”! The schismatic church with a bent towards hiring priests involved in scandals involving sexual deviance with children is unhappy with me!.  Their current “priest” is Virgil Tetherow, who was convicted on charges related to child pornography found at St. Ann’s Church in the Diocese of Scranton. He admitted to having child porn on his computer and pleaded out to lesser charges in a plea bargain.  You should check out the newspaper coverage or go to the court-house and read the material there. Despite their protestations to the contrary, Tetherow’s statements and his conviction are a matter of public record.

Another “Chaplain” at this mission was Father Marshall Roberts, a priest implicated in the Society of St. John child rape scandal. It seems that the people of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Mission like their priests a little on the kinky side, especially when it comes to underaged boys. The altar boys better remain vigilant!

I seem to have raised the ire of a couple of the people involved with this cult-like organization that appears to have no problem attracting predators to their ultra-conservative brand of Catholicism. I guess they can’t be too discriminating when selecting a priest for their breakaway mission. It is not a problem that their priest likes looking at photos of naked boys, no big deal! Tetherow seems to be comfortable will the pre-Vatican II Latin rite, and I am sure he loves the proximity to small children and parents that teach them that Father Gabriel is God’s representative on earth and needs to be obeyed unconditionally.

The first point of contact is with the author of the hit piece on me.  David Drew seems to be the desperate letter writer, frantically trying to clear the reputation of the child porn perusing priest at the mission. He completely ignores the facts of the case in which Father Tettherow acquired his criminal record. Instead, he attacks me personally. I understand Dave, your argument is so weak you have to go after me. I can live with that.

David Drew was kind enough to make several assumptions about my “personality disorders.” To quote his rambling prose:

Baumann sufferes from a severe personality disorder. His moral pretensions are transparent. He is a coward affecting the role of a man boldly confronting demons. For courage to be virtuous, it must be accompanied by both justice and prudence. Bauman has neither. He is a psychological criple from his own admission. I am not a psychiatrist but I did serve as medical officer in the U. S. Navy and was specifically trained to perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and referrals on naval personnel. Administering a MMPI to Mr. Baumann would not tell us anything new. But that is the least of his problems. He suffers from mortal sin from which he will not repent. He has lost the faith and he is losing his soul. I am not a priest, but this is self-evident to any Catholic.

I do like the way he makes sure that he tells people he is not a psychiatrist and he is not a priest. I get the feeling he is not a lot of things. Not only is he adept at long distance diagnosis, but he can also detect mortal sinners in a single bound. I somehow feel his sense of medical ethics may be a little slanted. Tell me, Doctor Dave, do you offer all of your patients one-stop psychiatric healing and mortal sin absolution at Hanover Hospital? I wonder how your bedside manner is with those patients who you deem unworthy?  For the record, Dr. Dave and I have never met, and he has never done a proper medical assessment of me.  I will forward his letter to the hospital administrators to see if they agree with his assessment of my condition.

The other person who has been sending me subtle threats and accusing me of was Dave Romeo, the keeper of the “Ultimate Service Provider” website and the person who hired Father Tettherow to be the priest at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission in York. Dave was quick to accuse me of slander, call me a coward (a theme that his buddy Dave Drew drew heavily upon in his open letter). Father Tettherow is listed as an ultimate service provider in the “Priest” category. He has claimed that he has investigated the claims against Tetherow and deemed them to be without merit. Well, thank goodness for that!  I wonder if the list is composed of members of the church?  Perhaps you have to pay a fee to become an Ultimate Service Provider.  I will need to look into that further!

I could end this post with some assumptions about the Daves, but I won’t. Why lower myself to their level? Instead, I will offer this. If you have proof that your priest is not guilty of the crimes he was accused of committing, including the charge to which he pleaded guilty, I will gladly apologize to him for any comments I have made in this blog. If someone at the Diocese of Scranton set him up and you can prove it. I will happily publish that as well. I will even go to Scranton to publicly protest the mistreatment of anyone they have set up.  Somehow I think that officials of the Diocese of Scranton cannot pull off the framing of a priest.  There are so many discontented people within that organization that I have no doubt someone would have come forward with details of the conspiracy.

In the interim, I will be looking into the connection between the Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission in York, Pennsylvania and the priests that have been removed from ministry because of their sexually deviant behavior. I will also be getting copies documents connected with Tetherow’s run-in with the law through the Freedom of Information Act. I may even detour through York on my way north for the holidays and sit in on services to watch the priest do his thing. It won’t be far off my route. Look around the congregation and if you see me, come over and say “hello.”  I am a lovely person!

One last note, I do not have a problem with Catholics as you stated in your literary temper tantrum. I have a problem with the hierarchy that protects pedophiles. To me, there is not a lot of difference between the ordinaries in their diocesan mansions and the outposts of conservative Catholicism that operate outside of diocesan rules when it comes to supporting predator priests. If you are giving quarter to a pedophile, you are fair game.   As long as these men support a potential threat to the children of the York community in the person of Virgil Tetherow (the guy goes by more than one name) the families of that community should be vigilant.  If there is an incident, people like Dave Drew and Dave Romeo should be held accountable for bringing the threat into the community.

“Father” Gabriel Tetherow – “Ultimate Service Provider!”

By Michael Baumann

An astute reader of this blog provided a website that has a photo of Father Tetherow. While Tetherow is prohibited from presenting himself as a Catholic Priest, he is doing just that. He is also listed as an “Ultimate Service Provider Priest” on Dave Romeo’s Ultimate Service Providers Referral List. I did a screen grab of the site to make sure I had it just in case it somehow changed in the next couple of days. You know how frequently web pages are adjusted after all.

Convicted Priest operating in a Latin Rite “Mission” in York, PA

So here he is folks, Father Gabriel, A.K.A Father Virgil Bradley Tetherow, formerly a priest in the Diocese of Scranton.  Father Gabriel pleaded guilty in a case where child pornography was found on church computers at St Ann’s Church in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.  As a result of an investigation into the incident, Father Gabriel pleaded out to lesser charges and received two years probation.  His case is allegedly now with the Vatican to determine his status as a Roman Catholic Priest.  Although he has been prohibited from wearing clerical garments and acting as a priest, “Father” Gabriel is now ministering at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission. This Catholic Mission is a schismatic church in York, Pennsylvania operating without the approval of the Diocese of Harrisburg.

Dave’s Comments: I first met Father Tetherow in 2006. He is a warm, compassionate, and approachable priest who immediately connects with people. He is extremely devout and knowledgeable in his faith and he is one of the finest speakers I have ever heard. His sermons are meaningful, inspirational and unforgetable.

I bet Dave would not be so effusive in his praise of this “priest” if he were aware of Father Gabriel’s appreciation for photos of children in various stages of undress and in sexual situations which are most inappropriate for children.

Perhaps we should let Dave Romeo know that many of us are not pleased with a priest who engaged in the types of behaviors let led to his entering a guilty plea in court.  We are also not happy that this man is conducting himself as a priest in open defiance of an order by the Bishop of Scranton to cease doing so.

Send Dave Romeo an email and let him know what you think about Father Tetherow.

Thanks to NEPA Catholic for the tip on the photo and the web location for  “Ultimate Provider” Tetherow.  Let’s keep the spotlight squarely on this threat to children in the York, Pennsylvania area.
