Dr. Dave Retracts his support of Virgil Bradley Tetherow

Doctor David Drew recently retracted his support of rogue priest Virgil Tetherow.  Dr. Drew is the chairman of the Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission in York, Pennsylvania.  The mission is a schismatic church based on the Catholic tradition that predates Vatican II.  Dr. Dave has been practicing the art of character assassination on anyone who disagrees with his beliefs, opposes his church or takes issue with his organization hiring a priest convicted on child pornography related charges while assigned to a parish in the Diocese of Scranton.

It appears that “Father Tetherow” was released from the employ of the Mission.  He is the second known priest employed by the mission that has a documented history of inappropriate/illegal behavior involving children.

Dr. Dave issued the letter below on the website, Angelqueen.org, a forum for conservative Catholics who practice their faith through the Latin Rite Mass.  This website was also the venue used by Dr. Dave to launch a vicious personal attack on me after I published a number of blog posts on the subject of Virgil Tetherow and his past activities.

A reader pointed me to this letter.  It seems that Dr. Dave does not take penance seriously, he did not offer an apology directly  to those whom he has offended. Instead he took the cowardly course and listed his retraction on a website that many would never stumble upon.

Here is Dr. Dave’s Retraction (from Angelqueen.org):

Retraction of my defense of Fr. Virgil Bradley (Gabriel) Tetherow offered with a public apology:

I first met Fr. Virgil Bradley (Gabriel) Tetherow when he was a Franciscan seminarian and was favorably impressed. I believed him to be honest and upright of character. When he told me that he was innocent of intentionally downloading child pornography and was not able to defend himself against these charges without compromising the confessional seal, I made an effort to examine the particulars of his case and found sufficient circumstantial evidence to support a reasonable doubt to question the truth of the charges against him. His excuse for entering a plea bargain with the prosecution was simple moral weakness, seeking an end to an ugly situation while lacking financial and diocesan support. Human failures of this kind, although not approved, are understandable. My decision to defend Fr. Virgil Bradley (Gabriel) Tetherow was grounded firstly and primarily upon the personal worth of his character, secondly, upon the obligation of every Catholic to help restore the unjustly damaged reputation of others, but especially a Catholic priest, and lastly upon the particular evidence relating to the charges of downloading child pornography.

Over the last two years, but particularly over the last six months, I have gotten to know Fr. Virgil Bradley (Gabriel) Tetherow far better. I admit to having made a serious error in judgment of his character. He has been repeatedly caught in acts of deceit, detraction and calumny supported by several witnesses. The evidence of habitual and willful moral failings was placed before expert legal counsel who advised his immediate removal. It was also placed before an elderly priest, a canon lawyer of sound judgment, who, after a thorough investigation, said that I had an obligation to remove him directly as well as a moral responsibility to make amends for having brought him to our Mission. This priest said from the pulpit of Ss. Peter and Paul Chapel in York on June 13, 2010 that “he was removed for cause and the cause was just.” He also shared the evidence with another elderly priest, who regularly assists at SSPX chapels, who also agreed with his removal.

I can no longer justify any assumption of Fr. Tetherow’s claim of innocence with regard to his criminal conviction. He has deceived me, and he continues to deceive many others, that he is a man of virtue, but the truth always comes out in the end. It is with regret, but with a sense of moral obligation, that I hereby formally retract anything I have said or written in his defense. I apologize to anyone who may, based upon my defense, have presumed that he has been unjustly persecuted by the judicial authorities and the diocesan officials in Scranton. His public record is that of a convicted felon on child pornography related charges, and I caution anyone, who places themselves or their families in his trust, to bear this fact in mind.

David M. Drew
Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission

If I may add to his warning, I caution anyone who places themselves and their families in the trust of Dr. David M. Drew, as a decision maker on the board of the Sts Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission,  to consider the fact that he has supported at least two priests with a sexual appetite for children. Is this really the man you want to lead your organization?  Has his lack of judgement and discretion caused you to pause for a moment?  Does he have your best interests at heart or is he running on hubris and ego?

Sts Peter and Paul RC Mission/Cult continues in turmoil

When we last left our favorite  Roman Catholic Cult in York, Pennsylvania, the fearless (cult) leader, Dr. David Drew, disgraced former priest Gabriel Tetherow (who has more aliases than a CIA hit man)  and the other intrepid members of the schismatic group desperately clinging to the pre-Vatican II Latin rite were happily trashing all their detractors through the art of character assassination.   Although Dr. Dave would point out that he was being persecuted just as Christ was, he was the prime supplier of vitriol and unwavering support for his convicted perv priest.  Not very long ago he was spewing his own particular kind of venom at me in support of his convict priest.  He had declared that he had reviewed the matter and declared  Tetherow wrongly accused.

It seems that there has been a change.  Dr. Dave has seemingly broken ranks with “father” Tetherow.  It appears that there is some intrigue at cult central and Dr. Dave (the omniscient) has conveniently decided to reconsider his support and point out that the priest he once zealously defended, stands convicted of a crime. How convenient!

All references to the priest with the taste for child porn (and god knows what else) has been summarily tossed out on his ass after crossing  Dr. Dave.  Dave went to pen a note on the website to throw his darling priest under the bus.  Ah, how the mighty have fallen! You can read about all the intrigue in York at the mission’s website/propaganda portal

Dr. Dave, in his own rambling prose style laments the hit to his reputation as a result of his potentially perverted priest’s actions of late. Poor Dr. Dave! The truth that he once so steadfastly denied is now being used as a weapon against those members who dare to have a point of view other than that dictated by Dr. Dave. I really believe Dr. Dave’s reputation is sullied every time he opens his mouth or cranks out another hit piece on someone opposed to his leadership. I have to ask, what moron would use this delusional man as an anesthesiologist? I would find another treatment center that does not grant this man privileges if I required the services of an anesthesiologist.

As for Virgil Tetherow, Gabriel Tetherow, Brad Tetherow, Gabriel Posenti, or whatever this rogue former priest and convicted child porn connesuior. He is allegedly still in York with a splinter group of ultra conservative Catholics who have broken away from the Mission in York and Dr. Dave’s iron fist.

Tetherow’s Classmates’ web page has been deleted. His delusional rants about book publishing, his reign as Mr. Oregon (still nothing to substantiate his claims of the title) and his calling to be a Catholic Priest are no longer in cyberspace. I was able to do a screen grab of his page months ago to preserve it in the event of deletion.

Be on the lookout for this wolf in priest’s clothing. I wonder if Tetherow is still an ultimate provider?

Another York Cult Member Writes In…

Virgil Tetherow, Brad Tetherow, Father Gabriel, Mr. Oregon, whatever you want to call the convicted child porn connoisseur who is currently masquerading as a Catholic Priest at a schismatic “Roman Catholic Mission” in York, continues to enjoy the favor of a fringe group of misguided ultra conservative Catholics. One sent in a comment to an old post on this blog that is just too good to relegate to the obscurity of a comment on a post that is only read occasionally by those searching for information on the priest removed from ministry by the Diocese of Scranton.  His removal facilitated  after he pleaded guilty to charges related to the discovery of child pornography on church computers at St. Ann’s Parish.

The comment posted last night by someone using the name “Devoted Catholic” (mailto:fraeuli@gmail.com) goes as follows:  (I am not editing this submission, I am adding emphasis in the form of bolding where I found the writer’s comments particularly interesting.)

Before anyone goes ahead and sends that email to good Mr. Romeo, who knows Father and knows what was done to Father, take a moment to think about this. You read this web page which instructed you on what to think, feeding you a one-sided view of the situation. You were then told to email Mr. Romeo about what you think, or rather what you were just taught to think. Father was framed, and is willing to discuss the matter with any honest person who approaches him about it. The best priests are the ones who suffer the worst persecution by people who would like to stop them from serving God in such a holy way, people who put filthy images on their computers and whatnot. Think, someone could do that to you too. Get to know Father and you will see that he is simply too holy and too paternal of a priest to harm any of God’s children. It is the modernist priests who distribute communion to abortionists, active homosexuals, and adulterers whom you should be worried about letting your children be around. The scandalous modernist priest filth has to stop, and so does the one-sided gossip about good priests like Father by people who don’t even know him.

“Father was Framed!”  Stop the presses…  “Devoted Catholic”,   despite your protestations to the contrary, a guilty plea to charges related to child pornography in court is not “gossip”.  The fact that your “Mission” has a history of hiring disgraced priests with a penchant for sexual activity that involves children, either real children or photos of real children in inappropriate sexual positions is a fact.  Chairman Dave, Mr Romeo, D.W. Drew, Devoted Catholic and Father Gabe,( Gabriel, Bradley, Virgil, Mr. Oregon, whatever his manufactured name is this month) all know that this is not gossip, it is documented fact.  The gossip comes in when these low- life pedophile apologists start blaming the Diocese of Scranton (an organization that I particularly loathe) and the pastor of St. Ann’s at the time of “Father Gabby’s” conviction for the admitted offenses of this creepy priest.  (If you haven’t seen his Classmates.com photo and self aggrandizing write-up including his claims of publishing a book and being the pastor of a “Catholic Church” you should take a look to see the face of deceit).   I will  assume that the “best priests” try to keep their minds and hands out of children’s pants.

You claim that Father (oh, just pick a name) is willing to talk about how he was framed.  I am all ears.  I have stated in the past that I would be more than happy to give him a forum to clear his name if he had exculpatory evidence that would prove his claim.  If you can prove that the Diocese of Scranton conspired as part of a criminal enterprise to “frame” Father, bring it on, or let me send it to an investigative reporter with whom I am acquainted and let’s start the process of clearing his name right now.   The expected response from “Devoted Catholic” is that I don’t qualify as an “honest person” in the eyes of the Catholic Mission in York.  Alas, Chairman Dave and the rest of the “Ultimate Providers” in York remain entrenched in their fantasy world where all the problems in society have been caused by Vatican II, “modernist priests giving communion to abortionists, active homosexuals and adulterists” and liberals.  Jeeze, these guys are starting to sound more like a hybrid of the Westboro Baptist Church and a Michigan Militia.

Devoted Catholic, you have no idea what is in the heart of the man who was ordered to stop presenting himself as a Catholic Priest.  Your blind devotion to this convicted deviant is a testament to your inability to look at documented evidence, to include Tetherow’s guilty plea, and see that this man is not too holy and too paternal to get aroused by looking at photos of naked little children.  Go ahead and drink the Kool-Aid, bask in your obvious and pathetic ignorance and go on believing what you are told by Chairman Dave and Father “Kiddie Porn”.   You seem to be made for each other.  To the parents of York, Pennsylvania, you have a predator wearing clerical garb in your city.  BEWARE!  To the members of the Mission Cult in York Pennsylvania, if you want to keep bringing this up, I am more than willing to focus the spotlight on your self proclaimed “pastor”.

There are message boards and networking sites for just about everything, so it was not a big surprise a few weeks ago when I stumbled on Angelqueen.org. The site claims that they are  “For Purity and Tradition in Catholicism”.  The site caters to the ultra conservative, Latin Rite wing of the Roman Catholic Church and is a treasure trove of information about the Latin Rite mass and pre-Vatican II worship services.

One of the disturbing aspects of the site is that it is used by some to foment hate and whip up passions against anyone who seems to be in opposition to some of the more vocal and narrow-minded contributors to the site.  Our old friend, “Chairman Dave” used this site to repost his ranting letter about me that appears in the “intolerance” section of the Sts. Peter and Paul Mission website.  Reading through the boards of this site I found a disturbing trend.  If someone submits an opinion that is in disagreement with some of the more prolific contributors they are attacked personally.  The merits of the debate are lost in the campaign of character assassination practiced by these most “devout” Christians.

It amazes me that people who claim to be in communion with their savior are the first to viciously attack anyone who would dare to offer a different opinion.  These are the same people who have no problem hiring priests who have been banned from ministry by the Roman Catholic Church for deviant sexual behavior or have been convicted of downloading and looking at child pornography in the rectory on church computers.

I invite you to read along to get a better sense of those who harbor predator priests in their midst.  This kind of apologist is as dangerous as the Bishop who moves the same kind of predator from parish to parish.  I bet Gabriel Tetherow is giddy with the good fortune he has found in the desperation of this rogue sect of ultra conservative Catholics. I hear that Father Robert Timchak, another Diocese of Scranton priest who has fallen from grace, may be looking for a job on the breakaway mission circuit.

Children are at risk in York, Pennsylvania.  Children are at risk as long as the mission allows Gabriel Tetherow continues to masquerade as a Catholic priest.

A Few Last Thoughts on the Chairman of Sts. Peter and Paul Mission’s Hateful Letters and Articles

By Michael Baumann

It strikes me as odd that the website of a “Roman Catholic Mission” would post correspondence laden with hate, distortion, personal attacks, and falsehoods.  The schismatic organization’s website is used as a launching pad for letters to officials of the Diocese of Harrisburg, editors and other individuals who have seen fit to have an opinion that differs from the lay leadership of the mission, notably, Dr. David M. Drew. Dr. Drew signs his correspondence as the chairman of the mission. Dr. Drew has a particular penchant for declaring that his detractors have some deeply rooted psychological problem (although he is quick to state that he is not a psychologist or a psychiatrist) that keeps them from seeing the truth of his religious diatribes. He uses his mission’s website to belittle and dismiss while wrapping himself in the cloak of a defender of the one true Catholic Faith. If you want to read some of his rambling epistles may I recommend the following:

You get the point.  Other letters and articles are available for review if you have the time and inclination to sort through the combative and dismissive prose favored by Dr. Drew.  What I have found, and it seems especially true here,  is that the more shrill the messenger, the more lost the message.  That is as true of Dr. Drew’s rants against anyone with an opinion contrary to his as it is with another leader of a congregation that embraces the practice of personal attacks to show its love of God and the compassion of its leaders.  The Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka Kansas comes to mind. There seems to be a similar playbook in use. The fact remains that Dr. Drew has hired, for his “Mission,” at least two priests over the years who have been ordered to stop representing themselves as priests and have been prohibited from active ministry by the Diocese of Scranton because of credible allegations of deviant sexual misconduct.  The two priests are Father Marshall Roberts and Father Gabriel Tetherow.  Tetherow is still active at the “mission.”  While Dr. Drew is quick to attack me and others as being cowards and liars or declaring that we are suffering from deeply rooted psychological problems, he has no problem hiring deviant priests who have been kicked to the curb for their perverted activities. It is from these gutters that Chairman Drew recruits his clergy. Funny, Chairman Drew is quick to assail his detractors, but he is willing to allow predator priests to be in the company of his congregation’s children. I guess that speaks more to his values than any of the venom and vitriol he has spit onto the website of his Mission.  Perhaps people would be more sympathetic and supportive of the reasons for establishing this Mission if the message conveyed from the mission’s website was respectful, compassionate and solidly rooted in the faith that mission’s congregation seems to profess.  For now, the public face of the mission is one of intolerance.  I hope the members of the group take that negative public face into consideration when selecting their next chairman. Dr. Drew seems to feel that my problem is that I do not practice my faith.  Perhaps the problem is that he does not live his. I will let you know what else comes up, other people have taken an interest in looking into the workings of this organization and its sympathetic hiring practices towards pedophiles and fans of child pornography.

The friend of my enemy is my enemy…

By Michael Baumann

I received a comment to an older post about a week ago that had me a little baffled at first.  The comment was from a “D. W. Downey” and it was intended to get me to wonder if  Father Virgil Bradley Tetherow, formerly a priest in the Diocese of Scranton, was framed by Bishop Martino.   It seems that Father Tetherow, who was ordered to refrain from acting as or presenting himself as a Catholic priest, has joined a “Catholic Mission” located within the Diocese of Harrisburg that is not recognized by that diocese. Father Tetherow is now at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission.   This is now a case of a rogue priest that has found sanctuary and acceptance in a rogue church.

To get you up to speed, Father Tetherow, who also goes by the name Father Gabriel, pleaded out to charges after child pornography was found on a computer he used. To quote from the database of accused priests in the Diocese of Scranton from Bishop Accountability:

Also known as “Father Gabriel.” Tetherow admitted in 2005 that he downloaded child porn while working at St. Ann’s Catholic Church rectory in Tobyhanna, Pa. in 01/05. He was arrested in West Orange NJ while staying at St. Anthony of Padua. Pleaded guilty to one charge of criminal use of a communication facility and was sentenced to two years probation. Case sent to Vatican for review. Privileges were removed when he was found celebrating mass in PA.

Note I said he pleaded guilty.  That will be important in a moment.

The church in which he is now masquerading as a “holy man”, priest, shepherd, spiritual leader is mounting what looks to be a public relations campaign to rewrite Father Gabriel’s past. The Chairman of the church, Dr David M. Drew, O.D, has “looked into the 2005 police charges and found them meritless”. I wonder what kind of investigative credentials Dr. Drew possesses? His findings  seem to be in direct contrast to the facts. I guess when you are the lay leader of a schismatic church you take what you can get when you are shopping for a priest. I wonder what the job requirements may be for this position. It seems that someone who pleaded guilty to a felony in connection to having downloaded child pornography is not disqualified. As long as the incumbent priest will stand in front of Planned Parenthood in full clerical garb, in direct defiance of an order from the Roman Catholic Church, actively intimidating, threatening and insulting the staff, volunteers and people coming to that office, the “Catholic Mission” thinks this “man” is qualified for the job.

While Planned Parenthood is not my favorite organization, I think that one can arrive at the conclusion that a priest with a criminal history that involves child pornography would be the least credible protest leader against abortion. One could make the leap that he supports saving those children so that fresh images of little boys could be available in 5 to 10 years for his perverse pleasure.

One may question the leadership of this church/cult in selecting this particular low-life as their priest. I, personally, would seriously question the judgment of Dr. Drew for choosing and defending a convicted felon. If the good doctor has children, I would be especially worried that he may have his head up his ass in standing by Father Gabriel. I wonder if the administration at Hanover Hospital would have some concerns about one of the doctors who has privileges at their hospital supporting a priest with a taste for child pornography? That kind of indirect  association can’t be good for the reputation of the hospital. I am very happy that I do not live in the area where this guy practices medicine, I would definitely not want to  seek any medical care from any organization that is comfortable with a person  like this on the staff.

As I see it, the friend of my enemy is my enemy. Anyone that stands by a priest who, by his own admission, stands convicted in relation to crimes involving child pornography and allows him a position of trust with access to children is my enemy.  They are the enemy of children and of decency.  Despite what Dr. Drew and his followers at the rogue “Catholic Mission” may say, Tetherow pleaded guilty.  If he was not guilty, he should have fought the charges and sought to have his name cleared.   As much as I dislike the Diocese of Scranton, the actions of Bishop Martino and those who protect pedophiles, I loathe anyone that would consider allowing access to children to a subscriber of child pornography.

Any organization, Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Mission for example, that accepts this predator and reasons away his criminal behavior as being “without merit” poses a great danger to children.  If you are a member of this congregation/cult you may want to consider joining another congregation/cult that, at a minimum, does not choose a felon with a penchant for child pornography as their spiritual leader.

I find Dr. Drew’s findings “without merit”.  I find the total dismissal of facts to be a clear and present danger to children who live near the church in York, Pennsylvania.  It is just a matter of time!  Which one of the parishioners will sacrifice a child to Tetherow?

If you have a photograph of Father Tetherow, please send it along to me.  I will be happy to get his mug out for the world to see and I would love to get it up on Bishop Accountability so that he can be identified and avoided by the people of York.
